For over a decade, my world was a beautiful whirlwind of school drop-offs, homework help, and the joyful chaos of raising my twin children, Swarit and Swarnika. I was a homemaker, fully immersed in the most important role of my life. My formal journey began in Amravati, Maharashtra, where I earned a B.E. in Electronics & Telecommunication in 2003. Years later, my husband, Sudhir, and I built a home and a life together in Dubai.
But beneath the surface, a different kind of passion was waiting. I saw an opportunity to combine my ambition with Sudhir’s extensive experience in quality, compliance, and sustainability. It was I who suggested we start a business together. In 2019, that dormant idea became a reality when I joined him as an entrepreneur. The leap from homemaker to business owner was thrilling, but it came with a steep learning curve. I was suddenly faced with the world of sales, marketing, and business operations, all while battling personal fears like public speaking anxiety and the pressure of making critical decisions.
I quickly realized that to succeed, I needed more than just a new title; I needed to deeply understand Dubai's business landscape and build a powerful network. This realization led me to a pivotal moment: I joined Business Network International (BNI), not just as a member, but as a student ready to learn.
BNI became my business school and support network rolled into one. I entered with hesitation and curiosity, but I emerged with confidence and a new set of skills. The transformation was dramatic. I didn't just attend meetings; I actively participated, taking on leadership roles and challenging myself at every turn.
I was honored as the Best Vice President in my chapter and took on regional leadership roles, helping to guide others.
I helped turn a struggling chapter into the Chapter of the Month, proving that the right mindset and teamwork can change everything.
I went from being a passive partner to an active sales and marketing leader, acquiring key clients that significantly grew our company's revenue.
I began mentoring new BNI members, guiding them to unlock their own potential, just as I had.
Through BNI, I discovered that success is not just about what you know, but who you connect with and how you help them succeed. It gave me a community of professionals who share knowledge and resources, a steady stream of referrals, and, most importantly, the confidence to lead. The biggest gift BNI gave me was the skills in public speaking, leadership, and relationship-building that I now use every day. Today, I continue to lead in sales and marketing for our business, build valuable partnerships, and inspire other women to embrace change fearlessly. My story is proof that it’s never too late to step out of your comfort zone and create the life you’ve always imagined.
